Choir
The Choir of Masaryk University is celebrating its 5th anniversary. The amount ofawards and achievements it acquired definitely exceeds the usual standards for such a young choir – dozens of successful concerts, participation on international festivals and competitions that was always accompanied by success and awards, eg. Svátky písní Olomouc 2005, Bohuslav Martinů Festival 2007, Montreux Choral Festival 2008. Under the conduction of choirmaster MgA. Michal Vajda great vocal-instrumental compositions (A. Dvořák - Te Deum, B. Martinů - Kytice, A. Vivaldi - Gloria, P. Eben - Prague Te Deum, J. Rutter - Magnificat) were performed in cooperation with professional orchestras. In 2007 the choir was awarded with the title of „Choir of the year“ (awarded by the Union of Czech Choirs). Even this incomplete list of achievements strongly suggests that Choir of Masaryk University is in great condition and it is justly considered to be one of the top choirs.
